upGrade electric LLC is committed to making our website and services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as an ongoing effort, not a one-time project.
1. Our Commitment
We work to ensure that upgradeelectricllc.com is usable by people who use screen readers, navigate by keyboard, have low vision or are color-blind, have motor or cognitive impairments, or use older browsers and low-bandwidth connections.
2. Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the W3C. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most US courts and regulators reference for ADA Title III website accessibility.
We are continuously testing and improving the site. Some features may not yet meet the AA target — see Known Limitations below — and we are working through a backlog of fixes.
3. Measures We Take
- Use semantic HTML and ARIA where appropriate
- Provide visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Provide descriptive alt text on every photo of our work
- Maintain text contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA on body text
- Ensure forms are keyboard-navigable and label all fields
- Test pages with screen readers and the browser keyboard
- Keep page weights low so the site loads on slow connections
- Mark decorative icons as
aria-hidden - Provide a phone number on every page so visitors can reach us by voice
4. Known Limitations
- The interactive service-area map requires a pointer device. Screen-reader-only users can use the service-area list beside the map, which provides the same information.
- The EV install calculator and load estimator use sliders and dropdowns that produce visual changes (rotating needles, animated bars). The numerical result is read aloud via an
aria-liveregion. - Some background imagery has subtle motion (parallax). It respects the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query.
5. Third-Party Content
Some content on the site is provided by third-party services (Google Maps tiles, Leaflet map, OpenStreetMap data, embedded social-media links). We do not control the accessibility of those services directly. If a third-party feature blocks your access, please contact us — we'll provide an alternative.
6. Compatibility With Assistive Technologies
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows), TalkBack (Android)
- Keyboards: full tab navigation, Enter/Space to activate, Esc to close dialogs
- Browser zoom: up to 200% without horizontal scrolling on most pages
- Browsers: latest two major versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge
7. Feedback and Reporting
If you are having trouble using any part of upgradeelectricllc.com, please contact us — we'll work with you to provide the information or service you need by phone or email if the website itself isn't working for you. We respond to accessibility-related feedback within two (2) business days.
